The Washington International Trade Foundation is the 501c3 charitable non-profit educational organization which supports the educational activities of WITA. Incorporated in 1996, the Foundation has a separate Board of Directors and separate books, accounts and budget, but shares some assets, such as office space and equipment, with WITA. WITA's staff manage the affairs of the Foundation, under the direction of the Foundation President and Foundation Board of Directors.
Your organization's support of WITF is tax deductible. WITF's Federal Tax ID # is 52-1907420. You may also call us at 202-312-1600 for more information regarding the Foundation.
The Foundation is most active during the preparations and hosting of the Annual Dinner, which it co-sponsors with WITA. The Annual Dinner is the capstone event of both organizations. Held each July in the Atrium and Ballroom of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, the Annual Dinner is Washington's most important trade event, where the trade community honors those individuals who have provided critical leadership and vision in the advancement of international trade policy.
The Foundation also creates and organizes other fundraisers for WITA from time to time, such as our brand new event, The Governors and Ambassadors World Trade Reception. These activities simultanesouly raise awareness about WITA, generate funds in support of WITA, and stimultate active trade dialogue among top officials from across the board--Federal, state, embassy, industry, NGO, and other stakeholders in international trade.
Support WITF!
Has your organzation changed address, or added a new partner to the firm's name? Consider donating your old office supplies to WITF. Durables such as pens, paper, mailing labels, nametags/holders, calculators, staplers, and tape dispensers are an easy way to support WITF.
A donation to WITF supports the educational activities of WITA. Consider: WITA is one of the few non-profits in DC that is truly neutral, actually brings both sides of the aisle together for robust policy dialogue; and educates a whole community of professionals. WITA and WITF also recognize annually those among us who make the biggest impact on world trade. Doesn't that seem like the type of organization you'd like to support?
Currently, WITF has need of:
- gently used laptop, Windows 7 and MS Office 2010
- business card scanner
- cash or in-kind donations to support WITA's educational programming, website development, and scholarship programs (under development)
If you are interested in donating, please contact us at wita@wita.org or call us at 202-312-1600.
